Was in Ipoh to attend a funeral last week. The deceased was a school headmaster, and her funeral was on a working day… so understandably most of the people at the funeral were retirees, retired teachers to be precise.

Heard a lot of conversations, mostly about where to find the best doctors, best supplements, grandchildren, and gossips of what’s happening to the others that’s not at the funeral… apparently there’s a fella that got married at the age of ~65… pretty cool huh.

It’s rather funny though, that these people have been friends for years… and it took a funeral for all of them to gather again. Friends are precious, friends for decades are priceless…

On our back to KL, I told my mum that she shouldn’t wait until the next funeral to meet her friends again; they should hang out more often for a tea or dinner… she agreed.

A pro-government Malaysian daily (NST) has sued two popular Internet bloggers for defamation in what a critic said Thursday would have a “chilling effect” on freedom of speech. [Full story here]

Lots of bloggers are standing in defence for the 2 bloggers, Jeff Ooi and Ahiruddin Attan… but honestly, what makes people think that bloggers can’t and shouldn’t be sued if we did something wrong?

A dear family friend passed away yesterday… I’m leaving for Ipoh a couple hours later to attend her memorial ceremony and funeral.

It’s saddening to see long-term family friends leaving, but it’s not too much of a surprise though, anything can happen when people are getting into their 60s.

What really matters is how we live our life when we are still standing. Quite often I see old folks losing special interest, wandering every day’s life just like every other day… I can’t say it’s bad, they probably felt peaceful and blessing to enjoy the easiness… but I sure wish that my life will still be exciting when I’m old.

I think I will be doing a bungee jump when I’m 78, and probably die of heart attack that same moment… it should be cool.

I am the kind of people where coffee has no effect on my whatever body system… I can drink a cup of coffee and sleep like a pig in the next 15 minutes.

In fact I found that I slept better after drinking a cup of coffee… weird.

Sometimes I do envy those who shows more response with the coffee caffeine, like when you need a boost to work late at night… like right now… when I need to work on some projects.

Too tired… coffee not working… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It’s 2007… had dinner with family on New Year Eve. Most of the friends were back at hometown or going for a short vacation.

It’s almost unimaginable how many of my friends are in Genting at the moment. Chance is… if I drive to Genting now, I will likely to meet at least a few buddies in the casino.

2006 is a decent year for me; nothing great, nothing bad.

However, in terms of resolutions, 2006 is disastrous. I don’t even bother to get a new resolution for 2007, what I need is to work on 2006′s goals instead.

Let’s hope 2007 will be a great year for everyone.
