My sister in law gave birth to a healthy baby boy just a day before Malaysia celebrate our 49th Merdeka independence day.
The welcoming of a new life in our big family has left me pondering lots of things.. to be a better man, to be a great uncle that my nephews and niece can take as a role model.

When I was in kindergarten, my teacher told the class that candies (or sweets) were made of blood.. and being as naive as I was, I believed in her and stopped taking candies for years.

Most Malaysian will know about our darkest history after independence on May 13, 1969.. the racial violence that claim hundred(s) of casualties.
Fact is however, how many of the younger generations know what exactly happened on that day? What triggered the violence? What happen to the victims? What happened to the villains?

July 11, I’m going to write something about 7-eleven, the worldwide 24 hours convenience store franchise, famous for their Slurpee and.. Slurpee.
When I was a kid I had some fantasies for 7-11, slurping a Slurpee is kinda feeling like heaven.. I guess their TV commercials must be working pretty well back then.

After the exposed video of Sarawak high school girls bullies, Malaysians are suddenly concerned of schools’ safety, and politicians started to appear in newspapers saying this and that as if it’s something suprisingly new about school bullies.
Fact is school violence has been happening for years, and ‘lucky’ me, studying for 12 years in a all-boys environment allowed me to witness some of the strangest bullying. And school violence didn’t need to relate to hardcore gangsterism as some media suggest, it could be just part of the growing up process if you ask me.
