Our PM Abdullah Badawi is getting married again on Saturday… no joke, the news is released by Prime Minister Office.

His previous wife Endon Mahmud died in October 2005… it’s just less than 2 years ago… and Pak Lah is already 68.

Whatever, I am speechless.

I am not sure… if they found love in each other, it’s not up to me to comment.

I have never gone through things like them… if you ask how I think, I honestly felt like wanting to puke when I first read the news. But then, it’s not up for me to judge, and I could be wrong in this case because I just couldn’t fit myself into their shoes.

from my point of view, their marriage is more like a ‘business deal’ to strenghten his polical power. Besides acting as a ’support pillar’, our new ‘First Lady’ will be responsible on other non-office duties, such as attending some social & charity functions on Pak Lah’s behalf. Well, Pak Lah is a busy man, and certainly needs someone to do this sort of ‘off-stage jobs’. He got the right candidate as his future wife is from hotel management background & someone whom he trusted. She certainly has all the leadership and skills to deal with people based on her experiences.
When i first read the news, i was abit shock too, but thinking again (by putting aside ‘feelings’), his decision is quite logical.

Interesting point of view Nux… not sure if it’s really the purpose though.

mimimomo… I know what you mean; I am feeling the same way too; especially that he and Endon had been married for decades, I would have thought that it was the end of Pak Lah’s romantic journey.

But then, again… we are not in his position to know how he actually feels. Perhaps the loneliness is really that unbearable? Perhaps his son-in-law gave him too many headaches and he need someone by his side… there could be hundreds of reasons.

There were rumours during early of 2007 but he denied. Now, see! Liar.

catz… he is 67, and if his wife passed away, it should be his kids responsibility to support him, physically and mentally. He don’t need to marry, he wants to.

Jason… well, that was a few months ago. Things could changed rapidly. I actually think that he was doing the right thing… he is a public figure, but his wife was (is now) not; Pak Lah was just trying to protect her perhaps. Benificial of doubt lol…
