You are right on this Zul... design is the least concern, but it still make a difference especially on first impressions.

Hi Jee, as for the design, I would care less compared to what they can deliver to customers in the end. Google design was labeled 'boring' before, and people used to question who would want to board a plane with a name of 'Virgin'.

But overall very fair perspective though.

Thanks for the reply Josh. There are a few creative ideas on your site. Still can't seem to find your ToS though.

It's not about answering my questions actually... as to be honest, the success of both companies doesn't concern me much.

I do wish success for both Advertlets and Nuffnang; but at the moment, still lots of improvements needed.

Good luck to both company. Cheers.

1. Regarding the name. Yes, we have registered many typos of our domain (eg, adverlets.com) - we're in the process of redirecting the domains. We do intend to come first, and not just alphabetically :)

2. Thanks, glad you like the design! We appreciate it a lot.

3. Regarding address - we might be shifting to a larger office soon, hence e-mail and phone for the time being.

4. Blogger's perspective - we are using a CPM model, and will be announcing it later this week. Advertisers that we are expecting are youthful, lifestyle based, and relevant to bloggers. This will include large brands, and brands of all sizes and budgets.

You'll be pleased to know, that bloggers can also cash out via prepaid mobile reloads (reload number sent by e-mail! no need to wait for cheque) as an alternative to cash if requested, upon reaching the minimum amount required for payment.

As for your CPM question - the only way we can find out is if you put the Advertlets poll up on your blog, and we approach advertisers based on the demographics data. For example, 80% of KinkyBlueFairy's visitors drink alcohol (based on the poll data, at various degrees - moderately, socially, heavily) - what kind of advertisements do you think we can match her with? :)

Factors that will determine your earning are: Location, Traffic, & Participation Level. Of course the more readers you have, the more you can make - and the more Malaysian audience you have, the more Malaysian advertisers you can get. A blog that has a high participation level (eg, readers don't just come for the pictures and leave - they comment, browse, etc) will also attract better advertising revenue.

5. Advertiser Perspective - we offer sponsored polls, sponsored posts, sidebar ads and video ads. CPC model and others will be launched later. Payment is currently by cheque or cash. Credit card payment will be available in later stages.

6. The URL bug has been fixed :) It will only appear for a second now, when the poll resizes. Just so you know, its the numbers that allow the poll to scale vertically. More features and content will be rolled out over the next few days, including the support forum.

I hope this answers your questions. Please feel free to e-mail me at josh.lim@advertlets.com if you need any more details. Thanks for your review!

Boss Lepton... it's never easy to fight off competition from big guns. As mentioned, the success of these 2 company lies heavily on the support of the bloggers.

Money is not anything though... if they could serve more relevant ads to targeted visitors, bloggers would be happy to serve the ads even if it means slightly lower income.

Targeting is the keyword, advertisers could be happy to see their money well spent other than appealing to untargeted mass.

Josh... yes, got your email just hours later. Thank you.

You might want to mention I replied too, albeit a few hours later. To my credit, its a Sunday and Streamyx is down! I'm currently on dialup :) As mentioned in the e-mail, I will be replying to some of your queries shortly.

As I do intend to answer *all* the questions you raised here, give me some time to formulate a reply. Thanks for the mention! We appreciate the constructive criticism.

Great feedback to both the advertisers. I'm sure with more opinions like these, both of them would benefit and improve greatly.

The biggest concern now is how to take on the mainstream advertising media, i'm pretty sure most of them would be drooling to take a piece of the pie now.
