Good point. Just that in real life, not all people have high self-esteem, lots of people do like to compare themselves to the others.

Sometimes it's not those 'successful' fault, it's those 'less-successful' that think too much.

This is interesting! Exactly what I have imagined! Actually, there hasn't been any meet-up/reunion gathering organised for us (I'm still in university). I have always imagined how it would be like during a reunion... Those who're "less-successful" would probably shy away from the meet. What more for those coming from an all-boys' school -_-" What with all that male ego and stuff.

But really, I'm sure it would be a great reunion if only everybody just mingled and relived those old days without discrimination, without comparisons - albeit a little impossible, heh. But you know, I'm sure that everybody has his/her own measure of success, in some ways. It may not always be in terms of earnings, really. Any Tom, Dick and Harry can attend a reunion in a Merc or a BMW:
1) They rent the car for a day.
2) They borrow their family members.
3) They bought it themselves, but before agreeing to stretch their car-loan to 9-years repayment scheme and every month need to ikat perut to pay back the loan.

Some wiser men would save up the money for their children's education (it's expensive to send a kid to university, these days - and yet university degree is becoming increasingly important; without it your life's tough). In this regard, those who blew their fortune on lavish luxuries may not have enough left for their children in the future. How successful are such people, in the end?

Another measurement of success I like to use is by looking at one's children. Are they doing well in school? Are they playing truant and skipping school? I'd be very proud if I lived a not-so-high-profile lifestyle and at the same time, my kids are well-behaved with good results.

So at a gathering, there is always something more than meets the eye. A person wearing a Rolex may not mean/prove anything. Don't be intimidated by a 'seemingly more successful' schoolmate of yours. Everybody is successful to a certain extent, in his/her own little ways and that includes you.

Rm.. you got your point. I have another issue to think about as well, that is to drive back to Ipoh just for this gathering, the time and the cost.. it really need something special to convince me of going for it.

Not that I want to avoid anyone.. as said I just don't bother about most of them.

Teachers? Not really, I was not the teachers' favorite in high school. I missed one of my primary school teacher though.

Joshy.. fact is I am still keeping good contacts with those good good friends; so there's probably a few that I will be happy to meet, but I couldn't be bothered by most of the others.

Yes Jessy.. if I go I will wear the most gorgeous DRESS for sure :p
