Malaysia higher educational institutions are quite concern lately about the shortage of PhD qualified lecturers in universities, public universities in particular.

Most local universities are busy finding solutions to boost their rankings, they often look for shortcuts like hiring more PhD holders, getting more international students.. but often neglected the core of education.

It will take a few post to discuss the whole matter, I’ll now show a few examples why PhD lecturers are not necessary good lecturers, and might not be the direct solution for better higher education.

Perhaps everyone will have friends that we love to hate.. the kind of friends that you will like to punch on their face and call them idiots if they are not your friends.

I have more than a few of these friends, I bet you have too.. friends that will disgust you if they are strangers. Somehow faith plays its part, those idiots become your friends, and you can’t call them idiots anymore, you call them buddies.

I just wish that I don’t need to marry a wife that I love to hate in future.. but who knows, life is unpredictable after all, so is love.

I am betting 50 cents that you don’t know what this is.. and I’ll bet another 50 cents that you won’t know the English name even if you ‘know’ what it is..

Everyone is blogging about the tragic death of Steve Irwin, the Aussie environmentalist better known as the Crocodile Hunter.

Frankly I never thought that he’s that popular. I know he got a few shows on Animal Planet or National Geographic, but I rarely watch it, I didn’t even know his name before the accident.

Malaysia pick medical officer Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor to become our nation first astronaut, who will be send into space with a Russian rocket (Soyuz spacecraft) on September 2, 2007.

The 34-year-old Muszaphar will first head to Yuri Gagarin Aerospace Training Centre in Moscow for a 12-month traning, together with backup astronaut, 26-year-old army dentist Faiz Khaleed. [Bernama]

A band that started as little known, created a ‘dancing on treadmill’ music video that rocked the internet world, made their way to David Letterman Show, and the most recent MTV’s Video Music Awards 2006.

The band is “OK Go,” and their MV “Here It Goes Again” with their choreographed dance on treadmills is one of YouTube’s all time most viewed video.

Don’t mention about the pic size, my hand shaked when I took the photo, so it’s better to view it in mini.

Quite a nice view though.. KLCC, KL Tower and Genting Highland as well. Maybe I should carry a tripod next time to take a clear shot.
