The organiser of the Malaysia Pussycat Dolls concert, Absolute Entertainment, has been fined RM10,000 (~USD2700) by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) for breach of guidelines. [Malay Mail]
Apparently our Malaysian authorities think that the Pussycat Dolls were guilty of performing ’sexually-suggestive routines’ on stage at the Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach concert on July 26.
Tell me that this is a joke. Why do MPSJ approved the concert if they are so sensitive with the PCD style of performances? They expect the PCD to wear a saint robe and sing church songs in the concert is it?
The fans and audience went to the concert expecting those hot ’sexually-suggestive’ performances from Pussycat Dolls, not that they are not aware of what of it.
This reminded me of another stupid case a few years back with Linkin Park concert in Malaysia, where they were told not to ’scream’ on the stage, ya right.. let’s sing some love ballad like Siti Nurhaliza.

Actually after thinking twice.. MPSJ have their difficulties too. Banning the PCD concert will get bashing from open-minded group, allowing it will raise concerns from conservative group.
MPSJ are in losing position no matter what.. lol perhaps allowing the show and penalizing them later on is the best solution.

I got to admit before proceeding any further with my comment - that I am no PCD’s fan.
But, don’t get me wrong. I am as open minded as ever and it was just that I do not like PCD’s style of performing. One thing I got to admit that they never failed to pull a great show. You’ll get heart attacks seeing them dancing!
It was kind of surprising for me to know that MPSJ allowed them to perform. Everyone knows their dressing style. It was just that, I can’t believe that MPSJ allowed them to perform. Hah! I should be like expect the unexpected!

Nah it’s not a matter of open minded or not, it’s about aesthetic preferences and people will always have different taste regardless. For me I stay neutral for PCD, not a big fan but it’s fun watching a couple of their MTVs.
I’m pretty glad that MPSJ approved the concert at the first place. As for the fine, I’ve later learnt that there’s more political issues that’s involved in the aftermath, MPSJ didn’t have much options but to issue the penalties.. and well, thanks to that Malaysia made the headlines in worldwide entertainment lol.

I would just like to say that sure they dress inappropriatly, but their music is cool. the MJPU or watever guyz are stupid!!! no offence but, com on!!! They have nothing to do with it!!!
