There’s always a debate for the usage of Manglish (Malaysian English) that is said to give bad impression to foreigners about our English level. I’m actually fine with Manglish, but more concern about the impurity in Bahasa Malaysia (M’sia national language) instead.

Was watching the 8tv’s reality show “One In A Million” last week, and totally annoyed by the language used by some judges.. they mixed Bahasa and English until you can’t really clarify whether they are using BM or English to communicate.

No it’s not me, I can barely swim. It’s a video I found from YouTube surfing.. a group of tourist (from KL?) scuba diving in Sipadan Island’s underwater.

It got to be one of the cooliest self-made video I’ve seen from YouTube, the underwater world is just so heaven-like.. enough to motivate me to learn some serious swimming and get a scuba diving license.

Malaysia ranks 44th in the Happy Planet Index [link] that measure the efficiency of countries ability to enable the fundamental inputs of natural resources to be turned into the ultimate ends of long and happy lives.

New Straits Time (M) showed their kiasuness to make a comparison that Malaysia are better than Singapore, but the fact that Colombia ranked #2 in the list makes me wonder if there’s anything worth celebrating for NST.Iririki Island Resort

You know you are growing older when you and your friends talk about the past more often.

You know your current life sucks if you really miss the past that you and your friends are chatting about.

You know your past sucks if you rarely bother about the past that you and your friends are chatting about.

Life sucks, either in the past or in the future, or both.. also you are growing older, just like everyone else.. that sucks too.

7-11 logoJuly 11, I’m going to write something about 7-eleven, the worldwide 24 hours convenience store franchise, famous for their Slurpee and.. Slurpee.

Takeru Kobayashi, Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Competition 2006July 4th is Independence Day of USA, but more importantly, the day for annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Competition. Guess what.. another new record is set, from who else other than the little Japanese Takeru Kobayashi.

It’s 6th title in a row for Takeru “Tsunami” Kobayashi, this time he ate 53 and 3/4 hot dogs in 12 minutes, beating his old record in 2004 by an half an extra hot dog. Yupe there’s no typo, it’s 53+ hot dogs in 12 minutes, I bet I can’t finish it in 12 hours lol.

Just read from Mainichi Daily News (a Japanese-English online publication) writing about Manglish.. nope it’s not Malaysian English, why would Malaysian English be on a Japanese paper? The Manglish they mentioned is Manga in English instead. [link]

With the rising popularity of Japanese anime and manga, it probably will not take long for Japanese Manglish to take over Malaysian Manglish when comes to definition for the term.

Perhaps the Japs should combine both Manglish, you know.. Manga in Manglish.. then we will see all the LAHs and Rojak English in Japanese Manga, sounds stupid cool right?
