When I was in Ipoh I always got people calling my house phone and looked for JPJ coz my Ipoh house phone # was just a digit different than JPJ Ipoh.
Receiving this kind of phone calls every few days was pretty disturbing, most of the time I just took it easy with a proper “salah nombor, nombor JPJ ialah xxxxxx” and normally those buggars would just hang their phone without saying terima kasih.
The most annoying type of people were those that decided to try their luck and called my house again even though I already told them the correct number, as if it would make any difference.
Sometimes I would have some dumb fun instead, just ask back “apa mau?” and they would go blah blah blah and only later I would say “sori, salah nombor.” I never understand why I did it back then, it’s so childish right?
The funniest was normally when my mum answered the phone, she always messed up those numbers and gave a wrong JPJ number to those people instead.. and she always felt guilty doing so, and then later she did it again.. :x brava!
It has been more than 9 years since I came to study in KL, and it has been 9 years since I last got a call like that. Sometimes I miss those JPJ calls, it’s weird but when people getting older they start to miss those stupid things in life.. or is it just me?
Hmm I just wish that someone call me now and say “Hello JPJ.”
