Welcome to Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow 2006. Just went there this noon with Seong to avoid the crowd in weekends.. it’s actually my first ever visit to any motorshow.

Despite being a weekday, it’s still rather crowded. The first show booth after the entrance really caught our eyes.. every visitors’ eyes perhaps because of the ‘nice Ferrari F1 sportcar’, yada.

Seriously, lots of nice cars and hot & pretty showgirls. Almost all the big auto and accessories brands in Malaysia are at the KL International Motorshow.. Proton, Toyota, Honda, Mercs, Ferrari etc.. hmm kinda suprise that BMW is not at the show.

I shall blog on the cars later, there are a few special things worth mentioning at the motorshow perhaps..
Do you know that Hyundai is one of the official partners for the World Cup Germany? I only knew that just know, they are hanging 3 huge soccer balls at their showbooth, pretty obvious actually.
Introducing Mr BK Yap from Tom’s Stickers [link], his airbrush demonstrations mesmerized me for some minutes. His car painting is neat and damn cool..

My favorite exhibitor at this KL motorshow is Toyota . Toyota probably don’t have the nicest cars at the show, nor the prettiest showgirl, but I like the way they potray their image that stands out against others. One of their creativity is on the engine display, which I think is kinda cool.

Toyota even had a short stage show at 2pm, the dance was kinda entertaining and managed to pull a huge crowd, although I couldn’t much relate dancing to a car manufacturer.

Ford also got something different, they got a few clowns other than just pretty looking showgirls.
Ok it’s special, but frankly clowns are not as attractive as the girls.. and the kids were kinda scared by the clown actually.
The biggest suprise of the day however was seeing former Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Malaysia (10th) from Negeri Sembilan. I was staring at the interior of a Mercedes Smart sportcar, and the next thing I knew his majesty was standing opposite of me looking at the same car as well. (I think I might be in the newspaper tomolo..)
Both the majesty were pretty friendly to the crowd, and it’s pretty obvious that her majesty was very excited about the cars and enjoying herself. They are something else that was rather funny regarding the royals.. I shall blog about it later.

The real purpose for me to visit the Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow 2006 is for Honda proud technology, the Asimo.. and I’m glad that I was there.

KL International Motorshow 2006 will run till June 4 at PWTC, be there if you got the chance.

[...] So I met his majesty former Yang Di Pertuan Agong X from Negeri Sembilan at KL International Motorshow. The crowd were obviously curious about the VIP as his majesty were surrounded by dozens of guards, police and ranked soldiers. [...]

Was really looking forward to see the show but couldn’t because I had to take care of my newborn baby. Oh well, it will come again next year.
