I love Pachelbel’s Canon or Canon in D Major since I was a kid, my sister used to play the music with her piano.. and I absolutely loved it, although back then I actually didn’t know about the music title.

The Pachelbel’s Canon play an even greater role at later part of my life, it somehow reminds me of my father, the times that we had, and the times that we didn’t. I always wonder what would it be if my father is still here to share the joy and sorrow we had, have and will be having..

It has been 10 years since my father passed away, the sadness is already long gone and replaced by a kinda mixture feelings.. not sad nor sorrow, but more to confusion or simply emotional.

A lot of things changed since the period, all my sisters, brother and me fulfilled my father’s dream of getting 4 of us graduated.. my mother travelled lots of places on my father’s behalf.. and he would have been a grandfather of 2 if he’s still here.

Ya, things changed.. but my love for the Pachelbel’s Canon still remains intact, and I’m still loving the music to its every single beat.

Most of the people would be confused about Pachelbel’s Canon, but I bet that most of everyone has encountered with the Johann Pachelbel’s 1600s music masterpiece at least a few times in their life..

I found a few music video from Youtube as below..

The music is popularly played in graduation events, and is adapted to lots of modern music… most noticable is perhaps Vitamin C’s hit, Graduation (Friends Forever) in the late 1990s.

Pachelbel’s Canon was adapted in lots of movies too, Korean movie fans must have remember the piano played by Jeon Ji-hyun in My Sassy Girl. Oh yeah.. that’s Pachelbel’s Canon.

Net surfers and blog readers might be familiar with the famous version of Taiwanese JerryC’s (jerryc.tw) Canon rock version, he actually got himself on tv for this video.

I know how you are feeling because we are in the same boat… I lost my dad almost 14 years ago… Yeah, the mixture feeling… sometimes, I like to wonder, if… if… if…. and if…. if he is still alive…..

Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton brings me the memory of my dad.

Shaun.. there are sure bunches of Pachelbel’s Canon on the net, YouTube itself will have at least a few dozens of videos for Canon.

I still very much prefer the more classical approach to the song, piano and violin..
