Watched Jet Li’s Fearless at 1U yesterday, it’s a disappointment.
The storyline for Fearless is pretty weak especially at the second half of the movie, wasted fighting scene with poor cinematography, lots of unexplained issues (like how Jet Li learned the martial arts that his father never wanted him to learn) and the part where he rejuvenate himself at a small village is dang boring.
To be fair Fearless is still one of the better Chinese film in recent years, but it still sux. And also where would Michelle Yeoh come in to play if her role was not cut off from the movie?

jet li’s trying to be philosophy throughout the movie and emphasize the philosophy of the buddhist.. that’s why many people found it boring.

Agree WTJ.. the movie try so hard to be “touching” but falls apart.
btw not sure if it’s anything to do with Buddhist, it’s rather what the “Jing Wu” society philosophy that was mentioned.. too bad that it’s poorly potrayed.
I wouldn’t blame much on Jet Li, I am not expecting good acting from him anyway.. but the director and screenplay is poor.

I like the way they shoot the mansion’s courtyard and main hall… very authentic - look at the height of the ceiling, the beams and how the light and slight dusty speckles … nice!

Well ade.. that just my point of view. I do know lots of people that like “Fearless”..
Who knows? You might like the movie too..

Jet Li is great. Especially his chinese movies. But his hollywood movies are generally crap.

Well sort of.. Jet Li’s earlier Chinese movies are great, with more stories.
His Hollywood actions however focus very much on fighting, and with too many CGI sci-fi that loses his martial arts appeal..
Come to think of it, Fearless is not a bad movie after all.
