After reading much hype about the Dawn Yang saga, from the beginning story of a Singaporean blogger being signed by a talent agency, prospected to be the next future superstar.. to the later debates on her before and after look with plastic surgery (yet to be 100% confirmed) and her denial.

Forget about Dawn Yang, what interested me more is how the public perception about plastic surgery nowadays.

I’ve always been supportive of reconstructive plastic surgery to correct defects or functionabilty, it’s a blessing for those who needed it. I was a bit reserve on cosmetic surgery just for improving appearance, my believe was that people should have confident about themselves regardless of physical appearance. My perception was however changed a few years back, apparently not anyone could be confident about their looks, and it was actually devastating to every aspect of their life.

One of my friend Terry use bodybuilding in comparable with plastic surgery.. nowadays more and more guys are heading to gym to make themselves more muscular, most of them are not doing it for health, it’s for sex and physical appeal. And with bursting self confidence, it improves the sociability and career advancement for those peeps as well.

If plastic surgery does make anyone feel much confident about themselves, I don’t mind seeing anyone going for it. However I strongly advice those with plastic surgery intention to be consulted with various counsellors before doing so, changing the look is not the ultimate solution to boosting confidence nor to everything..

About the denial part, personal opinion is that if we dare to do plastic surgery we should be strong enough to admit that we did it. It’s up to different person with different perspective, one thing I am sure is that whatever a person choose to do, with the condition that it is harmless to anyone else, should be respected.

Back to Dawn Yang story, plastic surgery or not, good luck to her future endeavours. Denial or not, I think those who purposely exposed the before identity of Dawn should be ashamed of themselves for giving no respect to other’s privacy, what they did was no different than paparazzi.

i think if plastic surgery makes the person feel better, more confident, more positive, why not? isn’t that better than someone depressive over their looks? it’s all a person’s choice after all. It’s sad that the world sometimes view it negatively….what’s the hoo haa man.

if a new face makes you feel more confident, sure why not.
but you shouldn’t lie about it and fool people into thinking you were born that way, which dawn wasn’t…

jill… it’s an old story; I wonder how Dawn is doing now? It’s her life, she can do whatever she wants… if she decided to lie, well it’s her choice as well…

It’s our choices though, to choose to believe her or not, she can’t fool everyone in this sense. I still have pity for her though… I can imagine that in the current society, not everyone is open minded to plastic surgery; perhaps admitting having plastic is as (or even more) painful as being call a liar…

if you can afford to have plastic surgery then go for it. it’s your money so you can do whatever you want with it. I dont see any problem with enchancing one’s feature but what i dont really like is the denial and making up story like “oh im mixed blood thats why i look eurasian or amerisian blah blah” eventhough she’s not. That really pisses me off :P
