It was a long day (19/10/2005) travel from Venezia to Vienna (Wein), fortunately the journey on the way was quite stunning, so it’s pretty enjoyable.

Vienna is actually located at a valley, thus we needed to travel at quite high attitude, crossing mountains and going thru lots of tunnels to reach there.

We arrived at Vienna around 4pm after an 8hrs drive.. and headed for Vienna Woods after checking in at the hotel. The sky was getting dark, not much to see, and it’s getting cold at around 4 celcius. The dinner was however marvellous, we had some pork knuckles and roast chicken, some good beer and a strong wine.. lol I was a bit drunk, everyone was enjoying, singing and dancing.

We had to wake up early in the morning (20/10/2005) for Schönbrunn Palace.

Schönbrunn Palace

Schönbrunn was said to be the only place in Europe that can match the luxurious of Versaille in France. The interior of the palace was indeed quite splendid, with quite a lot of Asia artifacts.. apparently one of the famous ruler Maria Theresia was a great fan of Asia collections.

We got free time in the afternoon, my sister insisted to visit the Strauss monument first.. wish granted.

Me and my sis spent the rest of the day sightseeing around the Ring Boulevard, one of the few old city areas that survived the World War II bombing. Lots of wonderful buildings and architecture, and the weather was good..

We spent the night to a palace concert, quite a good experience.. that I managed to fall asleep during the show lol.
