Château de Versailles

With some excellent tour planning by the tour director, we were among the earliest visitors at Château de Versailles and thus allowed us more time to visit this grand palace.

Château de Versailles

The palace is overwhelmingly luxurious, with marbles, glass and crystals as the main inner deco. The enormous cost of building the palace and the over-luxurios lifestyle of the royals was said to be one of the main factor that sparked the French Revolution, which witnessed the beheading of Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette.

Set aside the history, Versailles is an amazing place to visit.

Probably the most famous.. The Hall of Mirrors, too bad it was under restoration, well still managed to see part of it.

Just outside the palace is acres of parks, plants and fountains.
