The beginning of a 19 day journey, me and my sis together with another 23 tour mates, and Craig the great tour guide with Marcel the magnificent bus driver.
We departed early from London at 7am and headed for Dover. Other than the main port to crossover to Calais, France.. Dover is also famous for its White Cliff. The ferry took around an hour to cross the strait from Dover to Calais, my first ever landing on the Continental of Europe.
It was a long drive from Calais to Paris, but since it was our first day on the tour, everyone is excited. On the road I saw lots of corn farms, 2 nuclear power plant (France have around 40 of it) and bunch of modern windmills (suprise).
Boujour.. we arrived to Paris at around 4pm, checked in to the hotel, took a break and headed to the bus again into the city area. Our first stop is at Notre Dame, which the construction begun in 1163 and only finished in 1250.

The gothic design of the exterior of the cathedral was amazing, the inner architecture was equally impressive. The Rose window..

.. and the hall, a mass was about to be conducted in just another half an hour, we were lucky to be there just in time.

We then had our dinner (we had crepes) at Latin Quater, one of the oldest section in Paris, and a popular scene for movie filming. We had some walk around the area before boarding on of the Sienne cruise, to have a spectacular night view of Paris. The night scene of Paris is beautiful, with lights on all buildings.. but nothing matched the Eiffel Tower.. truely my first sight on it was really a breath-taking experience, never in my mind thought that a junk of steels could look that spectacular!

When the flashy laser and neon light is off, Eiffel still look pretty cool..

We had a stop at Arc de Triomphe before headed back to the hotel.

That’s our first day in Europe, what a WOW day!!
